Activity Website:

Activity Description

Quizizz can be used as a formative assessment to find out what students already know about a topic or it can be used as a review to find out what was learned. You can create and play quizzes live or for homework. Quizizz does not require a classroom projector. Learners see the questions on their device and can work at their own pace. There is even a homework mode where learners can take your quiz outside the classroom.

Quizizz: Online Gamified Assessment-1

Formative assessments are not normally given for a grade, but they are given to inform the instructor where help is needed so every learner can be successful. Quizizz is limited to multiple-choice questions, but memes make feedback fun. There is a free app for iOS devices but currently not for Android; however, players can access the game through any Web browser.

Preparation

  1. Get a Quizizz account and practice making and playing games
  2. Select Public (In top navigation bar) and peruse games already made.
  3. Find one on your topic area and select the Duplicate button (below the Play and Homework buttons).
  4. Open your duplicate game and select Edit.
  5. Tweak it to fit your class and select Finish.

How-To

  1. Quizizz is best used as a homework activity. Select homework and you will get detailed instructions to send your students to do the quiz at home.
  2. Assign a quiz on Friday and do a whole class check of results on Monday.
  3. Use the reports section to see how well students understand key concepts.
  4. Revisit any topics that revealed lack of understanding from the Quizizz.

Teacher Tips
